Yahoo! Mail has five permanent folders that you cannot change or delete:
-
Inbox—The Inbox receives all incoming messages unless you specify otherwise (except spam). You may read your mail in the Inbox, then delete it, move it to another folder, or leave it in the Inbox.
-
Drafts—Messages that you have composed and not sent or that you are in the process of composing are saved in the Drafts folder. These messages remain in the drafts folder until you send or delete them. .
-
Sent—The Sent folder is where your messages that you have sent are automatically saved by default. You may change this setting if you wish, however, if your messages are kept here, you can easily review or resend them.
-
Spam—Any messages that Yahoo! Mail recognizes as junk mail is saved in the Spam folder. You may review these emails, move them to other folders, and delete them.
-
Trash—Deleted messages are moved to the Trash folder. Yahoo! Mail deletes these messages periodically, depending on your settings, or you may go in and empty the Trash folder yourself. Once they are deleted from the Trash folder, they are permanently removed and you cannot recover them.
You can create additional folders and organize your mail in any way that best suits your needs. For many people, these five folders are enough to meet their needs. Others may wish to create a few more folders to better organize their messages. It is important that you know where your messages are saved and to make sure that your folders are not over-complicated.
